The word inspirwriting is a fusion of two words that define what I feel to be my purpose on earth and that is to write and to inspire. I began my Inspirwriting blog in the winter of 2013 after much debate over making my writing public and I remember sitting for days at a time trying to come up with a name for my site and, essentially, a name for my story. I wanted something unique; something that spoke to my creativity as a writer.
What is the purpose of the Inspirwriting blog?
Inspirwriting has two purposes for me as a writer. 1) I write to inspire family and peers; people I know will understand what I am saying and where I am coming from. 2) However, there are other times when I write strictly to inspire and encourage myself. When I started writing as a child in my journal, words always seemed to seep onto the page that ended up leaving me inspired, no matter what I started writing about and I find that to be very true to this day.
What is my writing like?
My writing is very honest and candid. I try not to hold back what I am really trying to say and I try not to sugar-coat anything. I feel like that is the only true way to inspire: by putting yourself out there and being confident in what you feel and in what you say.
